1933 –

Guy Coheleach was born in New York City in 1933, and graduated from Cooper Union in 1956 after a military interruption serving in Korea with the 65th Combat Engineers from 1954-’55.

Guy Coheleach has had one man exhibitions at major museums in 18 American cities.  His paintings have received the Award of Excellence of the Society of Animal Artists eight times.  He now lives in New Jersey and Florida.

, Coheleach has also been the focus of articles in Reader’s Digest and Saturday Evening Post as well as numerous regional art and wildlife magazines.  The Big Cats: The Paintings of Guy Coheleach  by Abrams was a Book of the Month Club selection in 1982.

In 1972, Coheleach was run down by an elephant in Zambia. “This is exactly what has made him one of the best wild animal painters in the world admired by both scientists and art critics,” says Pat Robertson in Sporting Classics.

His endowment at the University of Tennessee provides about six full scholarships to the School of Wildlife Management each year.
